Update to regulatory action issued on December 15, 2011 to Core Laboratories Ltd.
On January 12, 2011, the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) confirmed that Core Laboratories Canada Ltd. has complied with all the terms and conditions of the order issued to this Company on December 15, 2010. The corrective measures implemented by the Company were reviewed and found satisfactory by CNSC staff.

Order to Core Laboratories Canada Ltd.
On December 21, 2010, the CNSC announced that it has issued an order to Core Laboratories Canada Ltd, of Red Deer, Alberta.
The order, issued on December 15, 2010, required the company to cease the use of nuclear substances licensed by the CNSC, and to immediately put all nuclear materials into storage. The company was ordered to quarantine all its contaminated equipment until it can be decontaminated or disposed of in accordance with regulatory requirements.
The company’s regulatory non-compliances included insufficient record-keeping, lack of calibrated instruments, missing shipping documentation, inadequate package types, detection of contaminated items, insufficient auditing procedure, and failure to produce test results. All of the above deficiencies associated with the use of nuclear substances must be corrected to ensure the safe use of nuclear substances and to demonstrate that the workers, the public and the environment are protected.
The order was issued as a result of an inspection conducted on December 15, 2010 at a site location in Red Deer, Alberta.
