Cost Recovery Program

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) Cost Recovery Program provides an equitable approach to the financing of the CNSC’s regulatory activities, by charging the licensees all costs associated to the regulatory regime.

Formula Fee and Special Project Fee Hourly Rate effective April 1, 2011

The CNSC Cost Recovery Fees Regulations (CRFR) provide for the CNSC to recover full costs and the mechanism to revise the hourly rate annually. The CNSC conducted a review the hourly rate for both Formula Fees and Special Project Fees to comply with the CNSC Cost Recovery Fees Regulations. The review was completed and the rate remains at $250/hour effective April 1, 2011.

Cost Recovery Advisory Group (CRAG)

The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) Cost Recovery Advisory Group (CRAG) is a vehicle through which representatives from the nuclear sector are given the opportunity to provide feedback on the operational management of CNSC's cost recovery program.
