G2 Tritiated Water Leak; No Threat to Public or the Environment

On June 13, Hydro-Quebec informed the CNSC about a leak of tritiated water in the Leak Collection System for the Heat Transport System at their Gentilly-2 site. CNSC on-site staff monitored the situation from its onset and has confirmed that there was never any threat to the health, safety or security of workers, the public or the environment. The incident is now closed.

In accordance with reporting requirements, Hydro-Quebec will present a report to the Commission Tribunal in August.
