Safety Performance Reports on the Use of Nuclear Substances
The use of nuclear substances is regulated by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and requires compliance with the Nuclear Safety and Control Act, CNSC regulations and licence conditions.
These reports describe the safety performance of licensees using nuclear substances in medical, industrial and commercial applications, as well as for academic and research purposes. Safety performance is measured in terms of licensees' regulatory compliance, reported incidents and occupational doses.

- Safety performance results for licensees based on more than 1,600 inspections
- Improvements in compliance performance across all sectors
- Low occupational doses reported, consistent with 2010 results
- Increase in reported events and incidents in industrial sector
