Supplementary Information Tables for the 2021–22 Departmental Plan: Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+)

Institutional GBA+ capacity
The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) will integrate Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+) into work-related areas where the Government of Canada has established GBA+ requirements. These areas are:
  • the development, implementation and review of regulations
  • the conduct of evaluations
  • the development of cabinet proposals (such as Treasury Board submissions and memoranda to Cabinet)

The CNSC may expand the application of GBA+ beyond the mandated areas to other regulatory activities where this would be beneficial; such as return to the workplace, the regulatory framework, Indigenous engagement and communication activities.

Highlights of GBA+ results reporting capacity by program
All Programs The CNSC continues to make progress against the framework to support GBA+ established by the Department for Women and Gender Equality. The CNSC has established a governance model and responsibility centre, and has drafted a GBA+ policy.
The CNSC is committed to ensuring that its “return to workplace” strategy is based on principles of equity and supported by evidence. To support this objective, a GBA+ assessment was undertaken to evaluate disproportionate impacts of the return to the workplace on diverse groups of people and to find ways of mitigating potential barriers, should any be identified.
